Taylor Maxi Dress

Crafted using a double-layered fabric that gives the same great fit as shapewear. Designed with a looser skirt fit over the hips with a loose lining to give gorgeous movement to the fabric. The dress features a lace up waist that can be tightened to your preference. A dress you'll reach for time and time again for how confident it makes you feel.

Size & Fit

Tie at centre back to adjust to your preference.

Alie is 5ft6 and is a UK 8. Alie has a 30DD bust. She wears a size S in tops, bottoms, and dresses.

Length of the dress is 56.5 inches or 143.5cm in length from the shoulder to the bottom hem length.

We’ve also now partnered with Sojo to offer bespoke tailoring on a selection of our items. We know that everybody is different so if the measurements don’t quite work for you then why not opt-in, to consider having it tailored for the perfect fit.
AYM will partially cover the cost of the alteration.

Fabric

Recycled ITY is a slinky stretch jersey that is double-layered for a heavier feel. This fabric has good hold and drape and is a Global Recycle Standard-certified fabric.

This fabric contains recycled polyester. 95% Recycled Polyester is made from post-consumer plastic bottles, with 5% elastane.

It is a low-maintenance fabric. It maintains its' stretch wash after wash. It doesn't crease easily. You won't need to iron or steam these garments as the fabric holds its resistance to wrinkling. We recommend hanging it to dry rather than using machines. Please be careful when wearing bags or accessories that could catch the fabric or cause pilling.

Colours may slightly vary due to the lighting during the photoshoots or the monitor's display.

What size should I order?

All of our garments are made with fabric that contains stretch. This allows for a degree of flexibility in the fit of the garment.

We recommend ordering your usual size.

If you are in between sizes; size up for a more comfortable fit and size down for a more fitted look.

Dresses with the lace up corset detail or waist ties can be adjusted to fit at the waist; therefore we recommend sizing up in these styles if you are between sizes as you can tighten in the waist.

What is the returns policy?
  • If for any reason you are not happy with your Taylor Maxi Dress, there is a 30 day returns period.
  • We offer free return shipping for any exchanges and when you opt to return for store credit.
  • You can request a return through the returns portal and follow the simple steps to arrange postage back to us.
  • The returns portal will provide a postage label that will be off set against the return value. This is £3.99 within the UK. You will be able to request collection from an address of your choice or can opt to drop it to a location that works for you. T&Cs apply. Please read our full returns policy here.
What taxes will I need to pay?

We make all of our clothing in the UK. We also ship our garments from the UK.

Therefore there are no taxes due in addition to product prices listed for UK purchases.

There will be international taxes due as follows:

  • EU - VAT taxes are included at the checkout. No taxes will be charged on delivery.
  • US - Taxes are calculated at the checkout.
  • Rest of World - Taxes are calculated at the checkout.

The Taylor Maxi Dress is made ethically by our expert sewing machinists, who are passionate about creating high quality clothing that will last.

People - the garment is sewn ethically in London, UK, and made by expert sewing machinists, paid above a living wage. AYM is a member of the Brighton Living Wage Organisation, which raises awareness of the importance of paying a living wage.

Packaging - All paper and card packaging, including boxes, swing tags, and box inserts, are produced using FSC® responsible paper and card. They can be biodegraded or recycled after use. The garment bags are used to protect the garment to ensure it does not get damaged in storage and transit. These bags are made using a D2W biodegradable material.

Fabric - Polyester is derived from non-renewable petroleum. We are committed to replacing these fabrics. This takes time to get right as we want to ensure the fabrics are durable, stretchy and provide comfort, fit and an affordable price point. Mills require large minimum orders to be placed. We are working hard to get ourselves into a position to invest more in sustainable fabrics. In the meantime we are using Polyester fabrics in garments we believe will have a long useful life - they are not 'trend led' pieces, but garments that we hope you will wear time and time again.
